Pine trees

Pine forests in North America, also known as boreal forests or taiga, are characterized by coniferous trees such as pine, fir, cypress, spruce and larch. One of the main threats to these forests is the small mountain pine beetle, Dendroctonus ponderosae, and other bark beetle species that respond to verbenone. SPLAT VERB is a pheromone-based ISCA product for bark beetle management. The product releases verbenone, an antiaggregation pheromone, repelling bark beetles from host trees.
